ToWhat are our lining fabrics for?

The fabrics provided to double your clothes are generally silky, satin and pleasant fabrics in contact with the skin.

They are generally flexible so as not to disturb the outfit and appearance of the main fabric.

They are most frequently used to double coats, jackets, skirts.

But you may also need it to double dresses, blouses if your fabric, for example, has transparency.

The liners are associated with woolbar, Wool and huts.

They can also get married to our pretty tweeds for spring jackets, tailor sets or even stuffing dresses.

You can double your silk, muslin, cotton or viscose sails, devoured viscoses or lace with beautiful liners.

According to the nuggets found, we find several colors and sometimes even in motifs, such as polka dot for example.

This allows you to have such a beautiful garment in it as outside!

The linings actually have several uses:

-          Make well finished clothes: as beautiful in it as outside

-          Have well opaque and easy to wear clothes

-          Soften tissues that bite against the skin (such as woolens)

-          Make clothes more insulating

-          Work the fall of a garment

Also, choosing a quality lining is an important step to guarantee a quality hand -sewn garment and like what you wanted to do!

Which lining to choose?

There are several types of liners, such as satin liners, unbeaty liners, lining composed of taffeta.

The choice of lining goes depend on the couture project that you are doing.

Is this a lining for hot clothing? Or a lining for a summer garment?

Or a lining for a handbag or an accessory?

Depending on these elements, you are not going to choose the same lining.

For instance, The fittings composed of synthetic fibers are electrostatic, and therefore particularly suitable for clothes that are in direct contact with the skin, such as lined skirts or dresses (or also dubbed pants).

The linings made up of silk, cotton or natural materials will be very pleasant to wear in summer.

Artificial fiber links (such as viscose) are less electrostatic than synthetic fibers (such as polyester). They are suddenly more suitable to double coats for example.

Finally, the choice of lining will depend on the rendering you want to give to your clothing as well as the material.

We particularly like to associate our liners with good colors, to have a garment, a coat, a well -matched jacket when we open it.

If we opt for example for a plain wool, we may want to add a little fantasy inside by choosing a patterned lining !

When you sew your clothes, you are master of all the choices!

We have the material, you imagine!

How to sew a lining?

It depends on the sewing pattern you have chosen.
